Stretch & Flex
Stretch and Flex is a core class for dancers who wish to improve in all aspects of dance. In Stretch and Flex, we focus on the lengthening and flexibility of muscles, and on building strength in the critical muscles used for dance. Flexibility is a significant aspect of dance as it directly influences a dancer’s range of motion, execution of movements, and overall performance quality. Improved flexibility contributes to better lines, extensions, and fluid transitions between steps. Additionally, flexibility plays a pivotal role in injury prevention.
Muscle strength is the cornerstone of dance, providing the foundation for stability, control, and the execution of powerful and precise movements. Whether executing challenging turns, leaps, or sustaining extended poses, dancers with well-developed muscle strength can achieve a heightened level of artistry while minimizing the risk of fatigue-related errors or injuries. We train strength and flexibility in stretch and flex to build a foundation for dancers to excel outside of class.
This class does not perform at recitals.
