Acro
Acrobatic Arts, or commonly referred to as “acro”, is the fusion of classic dance technique and acrobatic elements. This form of dance requires athleticism and has unique choreography to incorporate gymnastic-like elements into dance. This class focuses on building strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, and concentration. A defining characteristic of acro is the smooth, graceful transitions between dance and acrobatic movements.

The acrobatic elements and acts of balance are often referred to as tricks. These tricks vary in complexity and the skill required to perform them. Some examples would include forward roll, bridge, cartwheel, back walkover, handsprings, and tucks. Certain tricks require more than one dancer or can be performed as a group. At BTC Athletics, we are AcroArts certified, and have extensively trained instructors who are able to safely teach your dancer to progress in the art of acro.
